FAAN advises passengers to arrive Airports early for check-in

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has advised passengers, particularly those at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to arrive early at the airport for their check-in procedures.

FAAN General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, said in a statement in Lagos, Friday.

Yakubu urged passengers to avoid the unpleasant experience associated with missing their flights.

She said that the advice became necessary as passengers were likely to go through little delay at the entrance of the terminals due to congestion caused by increased in passenger traffic.

Yakubu assured passengers and other airport users that all hands were on deck to reduce the congestion to the barest minimum.

“Most times when our members apply for a Federal Government grant, they find it difficult to get the fund from the banks,’’ Udensi said.

He claimed that no member of the association in Edo/Delta branch had benefited from any Federal Government grant.

“Some of our members applied for the Federal Government COVID-19 survival fund but the bank kept telling them that they did not meet certain requirements. But we are encouraging them to keep applying, especially for the N50 billion EEFP”, he said.

The N50 billion EEFP which was inaugurated in March, is part of the Federal Government N2.3 trillion funds of the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan.

EEFP is aimed at cushioning effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on non-oil export businesses in order to safeguard existing jobs, create new ones as well as boost exportation.
