Unicaf University celebrates Akerewusi, CIS’ Chief Executive

A Pan African University with branches across African countries, Unicaf University, has celebrated the newly appointed Registrar and Chief Executive of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Mr Josiah Akerewusi on his new position.

Akerewusi, who succeeded Mr Adedeji Ajadi, a Chevening Scholar, scaled up the corporate ladder to emerge the Institute’s Registrar and Chief Executive in October.

In a statement with Akerewusi’s portrait, signed by the University’s Dean of Doctoral Studies, Dr Elena Papadopoulou and published in the University Newsletter, Akerewusi’s appointment is described as a proof of the quality of the University’s students. The statement says:

“ Unicaf University received with great joy the news that Josiah Akerewusi, currently a doctoral student and candidate for the Doctorate in Business Administration at the University, has been appointed as the new Registrar and CEO of the Nigeria Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), after successfully serving as Assistant Director and Chief Finance Officer for the Institute.

” We congratulate Mr Akerewusi for his new top appointment, which indicates the kind of high calibre professionals that Unicaf University attracts for its Doctoral programmes.“

The Institute’s President, Mr Olatunde Amolegbe, has earlier in a statement, described Mr Akerewusi as an accomplished professional and multiple award-winning finance expert, with robust industry experience.

Akerewusi, a Chartered Stockbroker, Chartered Accountant, and Mobil Producing Unlimited’s Scholar, brought into his new position over three decades of industry experience in Banking, Insurance Auditing, Accounting, Taxation, Information Management Systems, Management and Financial Advisory Services as well as Stockbroking.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (FCS), Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACIT) an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management (ANIM) and an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investmebt (ACSI-UK) He had served in various top management positions before joining the Institute in 2016.
