First Nigerian Female Stockbroker counsels Inductees

The first female Chartered Stockbroker in Nigeria, Mrs Elizabeth Ebi has urged the newly inducted 321 Associate Stockbrokers to uphold the highest ideals of professionalism.

Ebi, a First Class graduate of Business Administration from New York University and the Group Managing Director, Futureview Group, stated this at the 25th Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) in Lagos at the weekend.

Addressing the Associates during the prize-giving ceremony, Ebi explained that as wealth creators, stockbrokers were investment bankers that create wealth for others and therefore should also be wealthy. She however warned them against unethical practices, saying that integrity should be their watchwords.

The Conference with the Theme: “Capital Market as a Catalyst for Economic Development and Sustainable Growth”, attracted participants across various professions  globally.

The Institute’s President and Chairman of Council, Mr Olatunde Amolegbe stated that aside from the induction of Associates and 40 Fellows, it was a forum for initiating policies that would enable the government take advantage of the market to finance the economy.
