Onyema  to X-Ray 2020 Market Activities

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is set to hold the first digital annual 2020 Market Review and prognosis into 2021 as COVID-19 pandemic continues to moderate physical contact globally.

Scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, 2021, the Exchange’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Oscar Onyema shall unfold the market’s comparative score card in all performance indicators to members of the stockbroking community, regulators, investors, analysts, media and other stakeholders at the high profile event.

Market watchers told The Kernel last night that Onyema’s presentation would highlight the impacts of government policies on the market activities last year, factors that drove robust performance despite the inclement operating environment, and possibility of sustainability of such outing this year.

A statement signed by The Exchange’s Head, Corporate Communication, Mr Olumide Orojimi indicates that this year’s review will cover product performance (Equities, Fixed Income and Exchange Traded Products); The NSE’s strategic performance across business development (listings, index launch, strategic projects etc.); market initiatives (business partnerships, innovation, advocacy and more); and Corporate Citizenship development (ESG related efforts).

“ The event will also feature a special presentation from Managing Director, Chief Economist, Africa and Middle East, Global Research, Standard Chartered Bank, Ms. Razia Khan, on the prognosis for 2021 – local and international market postulations, capital market projections and lots more.”, according to the statement.
