All roads led to RCCG, Christ Church, Gbagada on Sunday, November 6, 2022, when top stockbrokers stormed RCCG, Lagos , Province 35 Headquarters, Christ Church, for Thanksgiving Service to mark the 30th Anniversary of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).

The historic Thanksgiving Service , coincided with the Offering Period of the Church. Through live transmission, the RCCG’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, who preached the Sermon titled : ” Overflowing Blessings Financially”, categorized financial success into rich, wealthy, prosperous and flourishing.

The renowned Cleric, however, cited many Biblical passages to explain that blessing has a wide dimension of which financial blessing is just one and not even the most important. He noted that ability to live a healthy life and ability to pray, amongst others were part of blessings.

He commended the Institute and its Members for their sterling contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian Financial Market and the economy in the last three decades. He congratulated the Institute for celebrating  the 30th Anniversary and prayed for its Members.

Corroborating him, the Provincial Residence Pastor , Pastor Remi Morgan, commended the Institute for the thanksgiving , urging it to intensify efforts at creating more awareness on how the investing public can identify certified stockbrokers as against fake ones to curb incessant fraudulent practices.

In his remark, the  Institute’s President, Mr Oluwole Adeosun, who led the team of Stockbrokers, sought collaboration between the Institute and the Church in the area of investor education in order to provide financial literacy for the church members.

Adeosun in an exclusive interview had earlier explained some of the major contributions of the Institute in the past and recent time:

” Our members have been instrumental to the accomplishment of some of the major milestones of the Nigerian economy in the last three decades. For instance, the monumental banking sector recapitalization exercise of 2005 – 2007 which served as foundation for the thriving banking industry that we have today was facilitated by Securities and Investment experts, our members, who succeeded in galvanizing local and foreign investors to come out enmasse and invest in those public offerings.

” In recent years, the Sukuk investment product was developed and has become an effective source of funding for infrastructural projects across the country; and please note also the various Federal and State Governments’ bond issuances till date, which enabled those governments to cover the huge deficits in their annual budgets.

” CIS has provided an excellent career path for Nigerian youths. Stockbrokers are highly respected everywhere in the world, and we have made it possible for the average young Nigerian to get into the profession seamlessly and at reasonable cost, and graduate to practice in one of the most lucrative industries in the world. In fact, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers has been at the forefront of Capital Market / Financial Literacy Drive in Nigeria in the last three decades. We have taken this gospel to various schools across the country on an annual basis. We have also commenced on financial literacy advocacy and we have developed series of programmes, targeted at attracting millennials into the financial market as our future investors.”, said Adeosun.

The President was accompanied by the 1st Vice President , Mr Oluropo Dada, 2nd Vice President , Mrs Fiona Ahimie, Registrar and Chief Executive, Mr Josiah Akerewusi, some past presidents, Council Members and senior stockbrokers.

Stockbrokers had on Friday, November 6, held a Thanksgiving Service at Syrian Mosque, Ikoyi, Lagos, as part of the events that characterize the 30th Anniversary Celebration.
