Kidnappers release Kangara Students

Both students and staff of Government Science College, Kagara in Niger State, have been released.

They were released today Saturday, February 27, after the students have been in captivity for 10 days.

The abducted students and staff were taken to a government hotel in Minna where health officials were said to be attending to them.

Some of them are believed to be in bad condition and limping. Only government officials are allowed to enter the hotel.

At the period of abduction, the bandits reportedly dressed in military uniform and stormed the school on February 17 and abducted 27 students, three staff members, and 12 members of their family.

The abduction forced the State Governor, Abubakar Bello to close boarding schools in the crises areas. As at press time government officials have not made any statement on the matter.
