Akinsola Akeredolu-Ale- Managing Director/CEO

Akinsola Akeredolu-Ale is the Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchage (LCFE)

An Astute Market Analyst and Operator, He has worked in various capacities since he qualified as an authorized dealing clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1994. He became a Chartered Stockbroker in 1995 and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in 2008. His first degree was earned from the University of Lagos. He has a master’s degree in corporate Governance from the Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and is an Associate Member of The Nigerian Institute of Management. He served on the Technical Committee for the Emerging Capital Markets Task Force UK (ECMT) tasked with the setting up of an operational and legal framework to facilitate emerging markets with special attention to Nigeria. At various times he served on various committees at the Federal Government level including Vision 2020 Corporate Governance Thematic Group, The Coordinator Financing Mechanism for The National Integrated infrastructure Master Plan and the coordinator Financing Mechanism for the First Operational Plan (FOP) for The National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan 2017-2020. Akin has over 26 years of experience in Wealth Management both in Capital and Money Markets.

His career began as a Manager in Fidelity Finance Company in 1992. He has managed large portfolios since then. In 1997, he was the pioneer General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of BFCL Assets & Securities Limited (A subsidiary of Oceanic International Bank Plc). In 1999. He was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of State Street Global Acquisition Limited, a position he held until he joined Fountain Securities Limited in the capacity of an External Consultant in 2002. He then moved to Arian Capital Management in 2006 to 2008 as the Chief Operating Officer before joining DSU Brokerage as The Managing Director. He was the vice Chairman of Association of Securities dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON). He has over 26 years’ experience in the capital Market Operations in: Assets Management, private Banking, Stockbroking, Marketing, Financial restructuring/ re-engineering, Project Finance and Capital Formation.

 

Fatima Abeni Lawal- Company Secretary

Mrs Fatima Abeni Lawal has over 25 years post qualification work experience in Legal Practice and Business Administration. She graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB Hons) from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State, has a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School and a Masters’ Degree (LLM Administration and Public Policy) from the Lagos State University (LASU). She is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) She began her career in a Law Firm Fatai Lawal & Co (Legal Practitioners, Solicitors, Tax, Marine, Admiralty Consultant & Notary Public) as a Youth Corper and rose through the ranks to become Principal Partner and Head of Administration. She represented her firm Fatai Lawal & Co in handling briefs for Companies and Organisations such as the Nigerian National Shipping Line (NNSL), Nigerian Maritime Authority (NMA), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Nigerian Insurance Corporation of Nigeria (NICON), Lagos State Government, Ibile Holdings Limited, Saunders Quarry Limited and Rietzot Nigeria Plc amongst others.

Prior to her present appointment, she has been Company Secretary/Legal Adviser to a Publicly Quoted Company; Premier Paints Plc for over 15 years.

 

Dr Allwell Umunnaehila -Head, Operations

Dr Allwell Umunnaehila is the Head of Operations at Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with specialization in Strategic Management from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Nigeria. He also holds a master’s in business administration (MBA) with specialization in Finance and Banking from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Finance and Banking from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He graduated first in Civil Engineering. He is a Chartered Stockbroker with a dealership license of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Securities and Exchange Commission.

His career has a blend of both public and private sectors experience having worked with the Public Sector as a Civil Engineer for about 18 years before joining the private sector. He worked in ECL Asset Management Ltd, a stockbroking company where he rose through  the ranks to the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the firm. He has been an Assessor and an Examiner in Derivatives with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) professional exams for the past six years. He is a member of the Education Committee as well as the Curricular sub-committee of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He represented CIS in the Critique and Editorial National workshop on Introduction of Capital Market Studies into Basic and Senior Secondary Schools Curriculum organized by SEC in collaboration with Nigerian Education Research and Development Council (NERDC). He is the author of three books, Bank Failures in Nigeria: History, Causes and Remedies (1996), Corporate Restructuring in Nigeria (2001) and Organizational factors as correlates of Competitive Advantage in the Nigerian Telecommunication Industry (2019).

 

Eyowan Ani (FCA)Head, Shared Services

Eyowan Ani is a senior level finance executive with professional experience along the finance, finance operations and investments value chain. She holds a BSc. in Economics graduating with Honors from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and an MSc. in Finance and Management from Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University UK. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria with practice experience in a top 4 global accounting firm. Eyowan is currently Head, Shared Services at Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange. Prior to this appointment, she was Group Executive overseeing Finance & Investments in an investment holding company operating in the Oil & Gas, Marine, Real Estate and Infrastructure sectors across Nigeria, South Africa, UK and Singapore. Eyowan is value driven and brings over 24 years of diverse experience in the financial services sector having worked in institutions as Arthur Andersen, Continental Trust Bank Ltd (subsumed under the UBA Group), Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Standard Chartered Bank, De La Rue Plc., UK; as Managing Director at BGL Private Equity Ltd and more recently as Group Executive, Finance & Investments at HARPS Holdings Ltd., Across these institutions, Eyowan has worked with and led intervention teams in financial audits and compliance reviews of major commercial banks and other financial institutions.

 

 

Rotimi Omowale – Chief Financial Officer

R.S. Omowale is the Chief Financial Officer of Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange.

He is a product of Accountancy from the Polytechnic Ibadan where he obtained both Ordinary and Higher National Diploma at Upper Credit level between 1986 to 1991. He obtained a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Institute of Credit administration and a Member, Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered). Mr Omowale had his early career in Accountancy Chartered Accountants firms notably among which are M.A. Ogidigo& Co (Chartered Accountants), Zaria and S.K. Ekundayo& Co (Chartered Accountants), Imalefalafia, Ibadan. He was the Internal Auditor of Shepherd Ventures Limited, a pharmaceutical distribution company, an Accountant in Select Drugs Limited, also a pharmaceutical outfit, the pioneer Internal Auditor in the Group Corporate Audit of AfprintNig.Plc, a Senior Accountant with Wayne (W.A) Ltd and Head, Finance & Logistics in Fountain Securities Limited, a stockbroking firm where he later became the Managing Director. He was at various times the Managing Partner of Realtime Financial Consultants Limited and R.S. Omowale and Co, a firm of Chartered Accountants and Tax Practitioners, the companies founded by him. Mr. Omowale was the Executive Director, Finance and Administration in Oyo State Finance and Investment Company Limited. Equally, Mr. Omowale was the Managing Director of Arian Capital Management Limited, also a stockbroking firm before he assumed the current position of Chief Financial Officer of Lagos Commodities and Future Exchange. Mr Omowale has wide experiences in areas such as auditing, accountancy, finance, taxation, investment and portfolio management, stockbroking and assets management and other financial consultancy services. He is a licensed Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Omowale is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration in a reputable international University. He is happily married with children.

 Rotimi Ayodele-Oba – Chief Technology Officer

Rotimi Ayodele-Oba is the Chief Technology Officer of Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange (LCFE).  He is responsible for using Information Technology to drive growth, sustainability, and efficiency at the Exchange.

He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Ekiti State University, MSc in Information Technology from National Open University of Nigeria, MBA (specialisation in Information Technology) from Ulyanovsk State University, Russia and a Certificate in Business Accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. Also, over the years, he has completed several trainings and certification exams, and he has been awarded over twenty-three Information Technology related certifications: including the higher coveted Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE). As an IT business executive with over ten (10) years of work experience in planning, designing, deploying and managing both simple and complex solutions, he has been able to drive value in multiple business sectors – Finance, Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, FMCG and Government owned institutions.
