The Nigerian Stock Exchange’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Oscar Onyema has assured the new executive members of the Association of Stockbroking Houses of Nigeria (ASHON) of The Exchange’s support in order to enthrone professionalism and restore investor confidence into the market.
In a similar vein, the Chartered Institute of Stockbroker’s President and Chairman, Governing Council, Mr Oluwaseyi Abe has endorsed the ASHON”s new team headed by Mr Patrick Ezeagu and Mr Akinsola Akeredolu-Ale, the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively.
In what amounted to a vote of confidence and assurance for the new executive, a statement signed by Onyemasays:“We look forward toworking with the new executive committee to further develop our relationship and build our market to the height of global best practice; a free, fair and orderly market that is the envy of the Nigerian”
Abe’s statement says: “Considering their enviable track records, we have no doubt that the newly elected office bearers will continue to bring to bear their experiences in transforming the association and the capital market in general”. ASHON’s recent Annual General Meeting led to the emergence of a new cabinet in which MrSam Onukwe was elected the General Secretary, Mr Seyi Oshunkeye, Treasurer, Mr Micheal Katsi, Assistant General Secretary and Mr Emeka Madubuike and Alhaji Rasheed Yusuff, ex- officio members respectively.
Ezeagu, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Solid -Rock Securities and Investment Plc and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) is an accomplished professional whose robust career spanned banking, consulting and financial market. He is an alumnus of Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK (2008), University of Lagos (1988), and University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1979). He holds M.Sc. Corporate Governance and Finance, MBA Finance and B.Sc. Management degrees respectively. He had served in various capacities at strategic committees of theSecurities and Exchange commission (SEC), The Nigerian Stock Exchange and CIS.
Akeredolu -Ale, ASHON’s immediate past General Secretary is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Gem Assets Management and a fellow of the CIS. He is an astute capital market analyst with over two-decade experience in Wealth Management. He graduated from the University of Lagos and earned a Master’s degree in Corporate Governance from the Leeds Metropolitan University, UK.He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Management. His career began as a Manager in Fidelity Finance Company in 1992. Akin has managed several large portfolios. ,
Onukwue , the Managing Director of Mega Capital Financial Services Limited is a fellow of the CIS and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He holds an MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos and M. Sc from Leeds Metropolitan University UK. Onokwe has robust experience spanning over two-decade in the financial market
Osunkeye, the Managing Director of Pilot Securities Limited is a fellow of the CIS and ICAN with over two-decade experience in auditing, investment banking, industrial accounting, asset management and stockbroking.He holds a B.Sc. Hons (Accounting) from the University of Lagos in 1990 and an MBA in Financial Managementfrom the University of Hull, England, U.K. in 1994. He is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), UK.
Madubuike , the Chief Executive Officer, Compass Investment and Securities is a fellow of both the CIS and ICAN. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Madubuike whose extensive experience in the financial market spanned over two-decade holds a B.Sc Agricultural Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was the immediate past Chairman of ASHON.
Yussuff, the Chief Executive Officer of Trust Yield Securities Limited is a fellow of the CIS. Prior to his appointment as the CEO, he was the Managing Director of Ibile Holdings Limited Plc. He is a professional Banker and a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Directors with over 35 years of Capital Market experienence.
Katsit , the Chief Executive Officer of Kapital Care Trust and Securities LImited is a fellow of the CIS .He worked with the Nigerian Postal Service Department (NIPOST) (1990). His Stock broking career started with Afrique Securities Limited later to DBL Securities Limited. Katsit holds a B.sc degree and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Lagos State University, Ojo-Lagos respectively..
